In Response: Homi Dalal’s Letter To Save Our Property!

Dear Editor,

Homi Dalal’s letter is an eye opener. Can I request all BPP Trustees to rise up and save this land which is owned by the Zoroastrian Radhi Society and Parsi Vegetarian Society and ask prominent builders like Rustomjee, Godrej and Shapoorji Pallonji to build a Colony at that place, instead of SRA. Can I also request all Zoroastrian Trusts not to keep any land without structures and Colony walls. Let us learn to give our community people bigger places to live in so that land sharks do not enter our trust properties.

I know of the fact that Super-max Personal Care Pvt. Ltd. at Teen Haath Nata has already eaten into the land of Thane Doongerwadi by breaking the boundary wall during monsoon, five years ago and have created a 10 feet road around their building and rebuilt a new boundary wall around their factory! Our trustees are clueless of this as they rely on one ‘Bhhaiya’ who has been given the land on rent for farming – who cultivates vegetables out of gutter water. I learnt about it when I worked there for a short time last year.

Our community has huge reserves of land which our ancestors built it but unfortunately there is no one to take care of it and hence we face this plight today.I call upon BPP to kindly intervene and save this land and put it to build a new Colony for our youth.

Gev Dalal
