India’s First Day-Night Test: Kolkata’s Eden Garden will host India’s first ever day-night Test, where India face Bangladesh in the second match of the two-test series. The match begins at 2:00 pm IST and comprises a tea and dinner break. The first ever day-night Test was played between Australia and New Zealand at Adelaide Oval, in November 2015.

India Shines At Olympic Boxing: Four-time Asian medallist, Shiva Thapa (63kg) beat Kazakhstan’s national champion and Asian bronze winner, Sanatali Toltayev 5-0; while Asian bronze medallist, Pooja Rani (75kg) defeated Australia’s Caitlin Parker in a split 4-1 decision, bagging gold medals. Ashish (69kg) won a silver. Overall, India won seven medals at the Olympic Test Event for Boxing. Silver medals were also grabbed by Nikhat Zareen (51 kg), Simranjeet Kaur in (60 kg), Sumit Sangwan (91kg) and Vahlimpuia (75 kg).

Next day, Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers played out a 1-1 draw; Arsenal drew 2-2 against Crystal Palace; Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1; and Manchester United beat Norwich City 3-1.

Rafa And Djoko Advance In Paris Masters: Despite being unwell, Novak Djokovic beat 97th ranked French player, Corentin Moutet: 7-6, (7/2), 6-4; while Rafael Nadal outplayed rival Adrian Mannarino: 7-5, 6-4.
