The Udwada Nine Family Shehenshahi Athornan Anjuman and The Udwada Samast Anjuman have announced the ordainment of a second High Priest – Er. Tehemton B. Mirza – to tend to the most holy Shreeji Pak Udwada Iranshah Atash Behram. He succeeds, and ascends the prestigious gadi of, Late Dasturji Peshotan H. Mirza.

Er. Mirza will be ordained Dasturji Saheb / High Priest at the Shreeji Pak Iranshah Atashbehram Hall, Udwada, on 11^th February, 2024 (Roj Aneran, Mah Shehrevar: 1393 YZ), at a ceremony starting at 10:00 am.

An earlier communique shared by the Udwada Anjuman Committee Members, the Udwada Athornan Anjuman and the Udwada Samast Anjuman expressed delight to announce, “after years of efforts to convince Ervad Tehemton Burjorji Mirza, he has finally agreed to take up the Dasturji ni Padvi of the Udwada Nav Kutambh Athornan Anjuman and Iranshah Atash Padshah saheb.” In the past, Er. Mirza was unable to take up the Dasturji ni Padvi due to personal commitments. He will be taking on this prestigious responsibility as the second Dasturi-ni-gadi, alongside Vada Dasturji Khurshed Dastoor.

Speaking to Parsi Times, Vada Dasturji Khurshed Dastoor of Iranshah, Udvada, shared, “(Late) Dasturji Peshotan had expressed his wish to nominate Er. Tehemton Mirza as his successor to his gadi. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to give it in writing, but on his passing, Er. Tehemton Mirza was approached to take up the Dasturi. Unfortunately, due to personal commitments, he had to refuse. He was approached repeatedly over the past few years, but was reluctant to take up the dasturi-ship due to other obligations. But we are very happy that he has finally decided to take it up, and as the united, collective choice of the whole Anjuman, we will be installing him as the High Priest of Iranshah Udvada, next month. I heartily welcome him and wish him all the very best for the years ahead of service to our most holy Padshah Saheb and our community.”
