Hyd’s Chenoy Agiary Celebrates 18 Years Of Weekly Humbandagi

26th February, 2024, marked the celebratory occasion at Hyderabad’s Bai Maneckbai Chenoy Agiary for having completed 18 years of conducting the weekly Humbandagi at the Agiary’s premises, on every Monday evening, at 7:00 pm.

The Humbandagi was led by Er. Kerfegar Antia, in the absence of Head Priest – Er. Mehernosh Bharucha, who is recuperating from burn injuries incurred when his jamo caught fire a few months ago, during prayers.  Er. Manernosh Bharucha however attended the celebration.

After the Humbandagi prayers, Cyrus Tarapore recited his short poem, after which the congregation moved to the community hall, where, Fram Desai conducted fun games on the theme, ‘Parsipanu’, enjoyed by all. In his vote of thanks, Fram Desai extended gratitude to Er. Mehernosh Bharucha for conducting the Humbandagi every Monday for the past 18 years, followed by religious talks and also to Farida and Er. Kerfegar Antia for conducting the Humbandagi and religious talks in absence of Er. Bharucha. He appreciated the Humbandagi group participants for their regular attendance all through the years, especially acknowledging the commitment of 92-year-old Nergish Kalyaniwala.

Er. Burzin Dastur then thanked Fram Desai for a well-organised event and dinner. The evening concluded with the rendition of the Parsi Anthem ‘Chaiye Hame Zarathushti’.
