Winning two gold medals, Greater Mumbai-based ace-shuttler, Naheed Divecha shone twice as bright at the Yonex-Sunrise 46th Indian Masters National Badminton Championships 2024, organised by the Haryana Badminton Association, held at Panchkula (Chandigarh), from 16th – 23rd March, 2024.
Naheed won the Women’s Singles Title in the 50+ category and she also topped the Mixed Doubles Title for the third time, with partner Kiran Makode from Nagpur.
Doing the country and the community immensely proud, some of Naheed Divecha’s earlier achievements, include pulling off an amazing set of three back-to-back wins at the MBA (Maharashtra Badminton Association) Senior State Veteran’s Championship (December 2018), winning in the ‘45+ Women Singles’; ‘Women’s Doubles’ and ‘Mixed Doubles’ categories; as well as scoring two Gold Medals and one Silver Medal at the 43rd Indian Masters (Veteran) Nationals Badminton (February, 2019). More recently, she played in three categories and recorded impressive wins at the International Racketlon Open Event, held for the very first time, in Mumbai (December 2023).
Serving as an inspiration to many, Naheed shares that what keeps her going is remaining fit and strong – physically and mentally and always taking on challenges which push her outside her comfort zone. Here’s wishing her the very best! May she shuttle on victoriously to many more wins!!
