Yazad Jahanbax Chinoy, from Valsad, did the nation and the community proud, by winning a Gold and a Silver medal at the ‘11th World Strength Lifting and Incline Bench Press Championship’, held from 15th to 21st July, 2024, in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan. Yazad won the gold medal, lifting a total of a whopping 505 kgs, and the silver medal for Incline bench press of 232.5 kgs, both in the 115+ weight category.
Bulsar Parsi Anjuman Trust Funds congratulated Yazad on his exemplary achievement, “We are incredibly proud of his hard work and dedication. His achievement is an inspiration for the Parsi youth of India.”
Yazad has been steadfastly dedicated to the sport and has earlier also won the bronze medal in the men’s seniors (120+ kg category) at the National Powerlifting Championship held in Tiruchirapally, Tamil Nadu, last year in May.
