Permanent Pavilion For Panthaki Baug After Long Wait

18th August, 2024 marked the inaugural function of Panthaki Baug’s new permanent pavilion – the vision of numerous colony residents since the 1980s. The permanent structure finally came to fruition after continued collaboration with BPP, replacing the temporary pavilion built in 1992, used for recreation, indoor games, colony functions/events for the past thirty years.

Panthaky Baug PWC Committee President, Zubin Sodawaterwala and Secretary Eric Lath shared snippets of their journey and expressed appreciation for the effort put in by committee members and founders of the Welfare Centre. A thanksgiving Jashan was later performed by colony Mobeds – Ers. Aspi Desai, Farhad Mogal, Mehernosh Panthaki, Mehernosh Subedar and Jouyan Panthaki.

A few years ago, the new PWC committee revived discussions with local political parties and BPP, leading to discussion lasting a year and a half to finally culminate into the construction of the new permanent pavilion, which was built in 5 months. The inaugural function was attended by BPP Trustees, MLA – Rutuja Latke, Senior Party Member – Manohar Panchaal and other dignitaries, who lauded the colony committee and its residents.

Next projects on the list of the dynamic Panthaky Baug committee members include road-repair, renovation and beautification of the well and playground facilities.
