ZAWA Heralds New Era of Community Engagement

The Zoroastrian Association of Western Australia (ZAWA) announced the election of its new committee in September 2024, ushering in a fresh wave of enthusiasm and commitment to the community. The newly elected team set the stage for an exciting term, with two remarkable events that seamlessly blended sport, food, and camaraderie. While the first event was a Table Tennis tournament which saw community members of all ages and skill levels participate, the second event was a ‘MeAt, Greet and Celebrate’ Barbeque hosted by ZAWA at a picturesque park in Perth, where community relished the opportunity to reconnect and strengthen community bonds.

Earlier in October last year, ZAWA held an exclusive evening celebration with renowned Bollywood superstar – actor Boman Irani who presided as Chief Guest for the Indian Society of WA’s Diwali Mela. As always, the gracious Boman Irani entertained all attendees with his characteristic charm and humour making the evening a memorable and classy affair.

2025 kicks off with a thrilling Throwball and Volleyball tournament, followed by the much-anticipated Sports Carnival which brings together participants of all ages for a thrilling experience. In March, ZAWA will host the popular Bunnings Sausage Sizzle, combining fundraising with culinary ecstasy and community bonding. A vibrant Navroze Celebration is also on the list, offering a journey into ancient Iran, showcasing Zoroastrian customs. With this exciting line-up, 2025 promises to be a year of connection, culture, and joy for Perth’s Zoroastrians.
