Dear Readers,
Excitement is in the air as we prepare to welcome the vibrant Spring season, celebrating the auspicious occasion of Jamshedi Navroz! The festivities begin with the annual ritual of decluttering our homes (and hopefully, our hearts too), selecting new clothes, making guest lists or accepting invitations, choosing our favourite caterers and/or dishes to prepare… and many would have already start preparing for the traditional Haft-seen table.
The excitement of the festivities ahead fills us with renewed energy, making us truly appreciate the freedom to celebrate with loved ones – something we were unkindly denied during those pandemic years. Indeed, there is much to be grateful for and even more to look forward to!
Amidst all the merriment, let’s also take a moment to remember those who may not be as fortunate as us and who may not have the means (or the will) to celebrate, as we do. As true Zarthostis, our celebrations are most meaningful when shared. A small act of kindness – by giving a bit of our time, our presence or resources – can bring joy to someone in need, making Jamshedi Navroz even more special.
And don’t forget to grab your bumper Jamshedi Navroz 2025 Special Issue next weekend! Ensure to tell your newspaper-wala or vendor to deliver it to your doorstep without fail! A true Collector’s Item, it’s packed with engaging articles, heartfelt reflections, and delightful features by our brilliant writers – guaranteed to bring smiles, laughter and a deep sense of gratitude for being part of this wonderful community. As Parsis, we celebrate every occasion with double the enthusiasm – just like our famous ‘Parsi peg,’ which is always twice the size, as also our special occasions (celebrated twice on the English date and the ‘Roj’ date!) – we cherish our traditions wholeheartedly.
As we step into the new season, let’s embrace all things merry, fun, and compassionate. May the arrival of Spring bring you happiness, prosperity and a lasting ‘spring’ in your step all year long!
Wish you a wonderful weekend!
– Anahita
