On 26th March, 2019, Mumbai’s Sazeman-e-Jawanan-e-Zartoshty-e-Irani (Sazeman), known as the Iranian Zoroatrian Youths Association, held a Jashan celebrating the Birth Anniversary of Holy Prophet, Vaxur-E-Vaxuran Asho Zarathushtra (Khordad Sal as per Fasli calendar), at the N M Petit Fasli Atash Kadeh Hall. Administrator, Darayush Zainabadi then spoke in Persian about the significance of this Holy Day and how it was an optional holiday in Iran for Zoroastrians, and other communities participating in the function. Chief Guest, Dr. Dolly Mistry –Director of Byramjee Jeejeebhoy College of Commerce, shared her knowledge on the ancient history of our religion. She appreciated the efforts of the Sazeman in keeping alive Iranian traditions and emphasized the need to spread these amongst Zoroastrian youth, and teach Persian language.
Marazban E. Wadia, President – Daviar Parsi Anjuman, regaled the audience with religious songs. President of Sazeman – Khodayar Attaie and Managing Trustee – Manaz Zainabadi felicitated Chief Guest Dr. Dolly Mistry and thanked her for gracing the occasion. Guests of honour who were felicitated on the occasion were Roshni Irani – Ex-Principal of Gamadia School; Marazban Wadia – President, Daviar Parsi Anjuman; and Parvin Khosravi – Ex-Teacher, Xaviers School, Mumbai. The function ended with distribution of dry fruit packets to all and chasni in the name of Ahura Mazda.
The Sazeman is thankful to the Iranian Zoroastrian Anjuman for its contribution as also to Trustees of Fasli Atash Kadeh for allowing the use of its premise, and to all Sazeman members for their active cooperation.
