Khushroo Soli Kekobad has been appointed Convenor of the BJP Mumbai Parsi Cell, by BJP Mumbai Office, fronted by BJP Mumbai President – Adv. Ashish Shelar, under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, and supported by Devendra Fadnavis (Dep. CM – Maharashtra). The appointment ceremony was held at the BJP Mumbai Office at Dadar, on 5^th September, 2023.

The BJP Mumbai Parsi Cell is commissioned to serve the Parsi / Irani Zoroastrian Community and look after its welfare, safety, security and its affairs in Mumbai and serves as a one-point contact between the Govt. and the community. It will work closely with the Community along with local BJP MLA and Senior representatives to help co-ordinate and facilitate the community’s causes in relation with various Government departments. It will look to maintain safety, security and cleanliness in and around Parsi baugs and colonies, as well as be of service to Parsi individuals living in Mumbai.

A resident of Kashinath Colony (Tardeo), Khushroo Kekobad completed his education in Mumbai and has been a part of the entertainment industry for nearly a decade and a half, starting with stints at Wizcraft and Cineyug, and finally branching off as an entrepreneur with his own agency, ‘Live On-Stage Entertainment’. Having always been inclined towards making a difference for the community, he put in much effort through the pandemic to help community members access hospital care and vaccinations. Earlier, during the 2014 elections, he played an integral part in communicating the needs of Parsi colonies with then Malabar Hill BJP MLA – Mangal Prabhat Lodha (currently Cabinet Minister of M’tra).

Speaking to Parsi Times, Khushroo Kekobad shared, “I’m honoured to be given this appointment and I aim to continue serving the community to the best of my abilities. Mr. Ashish Shelar and the BJP Mumbai Office has extended complete support to our community at all times, and my presence should help further facilitate the same. I would like to request our community members to come and be part of the BJP Mumbai Parsi Cell so we can all work collectively towards a better tomorrow for our community.”

The BJP Mumbai Parsi Cell invites community members to participate in its drive to work alongside various Govt. departments and local BJP MLA senior representatives. The Cell looks to appoint individuals across Mumbai to facilitate smooth functioning of the Parsi Cell. Some of the programs to be conducted to bridge the gap between the community and the BJP, will include creating an educational Safety and Security Campaign along with Mumbai Police; arranging Health Checkup Camps, Blood Donation Camps, Aadhar Card and Voter ID Camps for the community members; and much more.
