Dr. Cyres Mehta – Shooting For Gold!

India’s leading Ophthalmologist, reckoned globally for his unparalleled genius and breakthroughs in the field of professional eye-care, the dynamic Dr. Cyres Mehta, added yet another feather to his illustrious cap, by winning a gold medal at the 27th Capt. S J Ezekiel Memorial Maharashtra State Shooting Championships, organized by the Maharashtra Rifle Association, held at the MRA Shooting Ranges, Worli, from 6th – 10th June, 2024

Awarded the apex prize by Arjuna awardee and former Commonwealth Games gold-medallist, Ashok Pandit, Dr. Cyres Mehta struck gold in the .32 centre fire pistol Masters Division category, displaying not just his sporting prowess but also his disciplined and focused approach – traits which contribute to his success as a leading ophthalmologist. Dr. Cyres Mehta extended gratitude to his coach – Haresh Kambli, and to C L Pujari – VP, Maharashtra Rifle Association, and Gen. Secretary – Sheila Kanungo, for their support.

In addition to consistently setting new standards and breakthroughs in expert eye-care, Dr. Cyres K Mehta recently authored two books – ‘The Sight Guide’ and ‘CYRES: The Education of an Ophthalmologist’, further solidifying his impact on advancing eye care and sharing his wealth of knowledge with the broader community.

In recognition of his pioneering contributions to ophthalmology, Dr. Cyres K. Mehta has been the recipient of over 40 global and national awards, including the International Hero of Indian Ophthalmology, ‘Leading Eye Surgeon of India’, The SOI International Award, Youngest Eye Surgeon, British Ophthalmic Excellence Award, Swiss Eye Research Foundation Award, and many more.
