Each year the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon has grown to attract a host of different crowds and different causes. It not only symbolizes a competition and a show of strength but a gathering of solidarity and unity in the fight for numerous noble causes. Families set personal goals, corporate boost their camaraderie quotient and international runners show up with sneakers and gusto to make a difference while running the streets of Mumbai.
Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd., as a responsible and committed Corporate and having a strong belief in giving back to society will be taking part for the 10th consecutive year in this, Mumbai’s most vibrant event “The Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon – 2017”.
When asked, Nariman Bacha rightly says, “In today’s troubled times, when people are running away from life, we at Godrej, have decided to run for life.”
Come January 15, 2017 on which 105 committed Godrejites will be running Full Marathon (42 Kms.), Half Marathon (21 Kms.) & Dream Run (6 Kms.) in support of 3 genuine NGOs.
- Republican Sports Club – Merzban Patel, 64 year Parsi gentleman who identifies, coaches and mentors talented underprivileged children to play Hockey for State as well as National level and lead a better life. Yuvraj and Devendra Walmiki are identified and nurtured by the Club.
- War Wounded Foundation – Taking care of 11,000 War Wounded jawaans of Army, Navy and Air Force.
- Vasantha Memorial Trust – Taking care of cancer affected poor patients of weaker sections of society by sponsoring their complete treatment.
“These NGOs need our support to sustain and continue doing commendable work in their respective fields. For doing so, they need financial assistance and support, for which we appeal to our philanthropic donors to come forward and donate generously”, says Bacha. 80-G Income Tax exemption certificate will be issued.
