ARCS Andheri In Semi Final In MPL 2019

A phenomenal performance from Iqbal Abdullah with bat and ball (54) and (2-20) helped ARCS Andheri win a contest by 12 runs against Eagle Thane Strikers thus booking a place in the knock out stage of this year’s Mumbai Premier League 2019. Batting first, the ARCS notched up a fighting 154-8 in their 20 overs. Skipper Kevin D’Almeida led from the front and scored a 40 ball 59 with six boundaries and two maximums. For the Strikers, Prashant Solanki grabbed 4-31 in his four overs. When the Strikers came out to bat, Captain Aditya Tare scored 48 before being caught by Akhil Herwadkar off a Shubham Ranjane delivery. Alpesh Ramjani scored a fab 50 in just 30 balls. For the ARCS, along with Man of the Match – ‘Iqbal’, Shubham Ranjane grabbed (2-30) while Tushar Deshpande and Kevin D’ Almeida picked one wicket each.

Rafael Nadal Clinches 9th Italian Open

Top tennis seed Rafael Nadal, in exceptional form, overpowered World Number One, Novak Djokovic 6-0, 4-6, 6-1, to win his ninth Italian Open title and record 34th Masters Crown. Nadal overtook Djokovic at the top of the list for Masters Wins, as they had earlier levelled at 33 each, before the final.

Manchester City Wins FA Cup Final

Manchester City thrashed Watford 6-0 to win a historic domestic treble. Gabriel Jesus (38th and 68th minute) and Raheem Sterling (81st and 87th minute) scored a brace each while David Silva gave his side the initial lead scoring a close range shot in the 26th minute and De Bruyne pelted the ball into the slot during the 61st minute of the clash. This is City’s sixth FA Cup triumph and their first under Pep Guardiola who has now won six trophies since taking over in 2016.


BASKETBALL

                Toronto Raptors Beat Milwaukee Bucks

Toronto Raptors beat Milwaukee Bucks 120-102 in game four of the Eastern Conference Finals to tie the series 2-2. Raptors key player Kyle Lowry scored 25 points which included 18 during the first half to level the series. NBA All Star Kawhi Leonard scored 19 points despite a knee injury.
