Celebrated choreographer, Hormuzd Khambata was awarded the prestigious ‘Dadasaheb Phalke Cine Artist And Technician Awards’, for excellence in ‘Choreography’, in a glittering ceremony, on 10th June, 2024. A prominent figure in the Theatre and Entertainment Industry, Hormuzd is recognized for his innovative and dynamic dance compositions for various performances, musicals and award shows and stage productions.

Commanding an illustrious career spanning several years, Khambata has been associated with top events including the 71st Miss World 2024, ICC Cricket World Cup Final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, IFFI Goa 2023 with Madhuri Dixit, Shahid Kapur and Nushrat Bharucha, RRR film show with SS Rajamouli, Bigg Boss with Endemolshineindia, Grasim Mr. India, Femina Miss India, Filmfare Awards, India – UK Summit, and more. He has choreographed hits like Broadway and Beyond, Best of Broadway, Razzmatazz and the theatre musical show ‘Blame it on Yashraj’.

As the founder of HK Productions and Hormuzd Khambata Dance Company, his choreography is characterized by a fusion of traditional and contemporary styles. His performances include eclectic dance styles, like folk, cultural, street dancing, break dancing, popping-locking, jazz, hip hop, ballroom, Latin, contemporary, Sufi and Bollywood His troupe has performed all over the world, including Germany, Tokyo, Dubai, Sharjah, Thailand, Brazil and Hong Kong.

The Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation Awards is one of the apex awards in Indian cinema, honouring Hindi cinema artists, and most likely, the only awards that honour behind-the-scenes professionals for their exceptional work.
