India Beat Aus In A Thrilling 2nd ODI
An outstanding last over finish by Vijay Shankar with a blistering century of 116 from skipper and Man of the Match – Virat Kohli, which also happens to be his 40th ODI ton, helped India win the second ODI by eight runs at Nagpur, thus taking a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. Batting first, India scored a competitive 250 in 48.2 overs. Virat struck mighty blows with 10 boundaries while Vijay Shankar contributed a vital 46 before being run out by Zampa. Pat Cummins snapped up 4-29 in nine overs. Australia started off strong but Indian bowlers struck at crucial junctures and pulled things back. Marcus Stoinis top scored with 52 while Peter Handscomb notched 48. For the hosts, Kuldeep Yadav took 3-54 while Jasprit Bumrah and Vijay Shankar picked two wickets each. Australia were bundled out for 242 in 49.3 overs handing India its 500th ODI win.

India’s stalwart fast bowler, Jhulan Goswami, reached the top spot in the latest bowler rankings for women in ODIs, released by the ICC. Having accumulated 730 points, she now leads the charts.

The following day, Watford won 2-1 with Leicester City and Chelsea beat Fulham 2-1.

Indian Wrestlers Shine In Bulgaria
Bajrang Punia and Pooja Dhanda won gold medals for the country in freestyle wrestling at the Dan Kolov-Nikol Petrov Ranking Series in Bugaria, while Sakshi Malik clinched a silver. Punia defeated US’s Jordan Oliver in the men’s 65 kg final, while Pooja was undefeated in the women’s 59 kg category. Rio Olympics bronze medallist Sakshi won a silver after losing in the summit clash to Sweden’s Henna Johansson in the 65 kg final bout.

Federer wins 100th ATP Title
Swiss tennis star Roger Federer won his 100th ATP Tour title at the Dubai Tennis Championships, beating Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece 6-4, 6-4. He thus becomes only the second man to win a ton of ATP
