An Iran Tourism Roadshow was held during the first half of 10^th September, 2024, at Mumbai’s St. Regis Hotel, co-hosted by the Consulate General of Iran, Cultural House of Iran, Iran’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, and the Iranian Tour Operators Association (ITOA). Rahul Suresh Narwekar, the Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and MLA – Colaba, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Iran’s Tourism Minister, Dr. Aliasghar Shalbafian flew in specially for the event, alongside Iran’s high-ranking Iranian officials and prominent private sector leaders of Iran’s Tourism Industry, including Arian Silk Road’s CEO – Reza Heydari and Director – Naznin Mihan; Kamyar Asemani, Founder, Mahbal Seir Tours & Travels; Hossein Zali, Director, Fotros Tourism Company; Ms. Sahar, CEO, Fadak Trains & Tours; and Hamid Mehranian, Marketing Manager, Surfiran. Prominent Indian Tour Operators at the event included Diniar Darab Mehta, Founder and MD – Dini Travels (known for its Iran tours) and President BJP Minority (Parsi) Cell and Vice President BJP Colaba Vidhan Sabha; Akbar Travels, ACF Tours & Travels, and Kesari Tours, alongside interpreter Pariso Mondegari.

The Roadshow offered a unique opportunity to explore the diverse and rich culture of Iran, and promote the Indo-Iranian historical connection with the aim of fostering greater collaboration between the two nations, for mutual interests. The Iranian Government has already declared NO VISA required for Indian passport holders, which has greatly benefitted the Zoroastrian community members who often travel to Iran. Many insightful discussions were held, with speeches given by Rahul Narwekar and other dignitaries. The event concluded with lunch.
