Gamadia Girls Dazzle With Dance!

The Bai BN Gamadia Girls High School conducted their Annual Day at YB Chavan Auditorium on Wednesday, 18th January 2017, with renowned art historian, environmentalist and Dr. Pheroza J Godrej as Chief Guest. The function commenced with brilliant French ballet performances by the secondary section girls (trained by the Bharucha School of Ballet), followed by a fab gymnastics show by the younger ones. The highlight of the evening was the performance, ‘Dancing through the ages’ choreographed by Split Sole Dance Academy and directed by Odil Madeira, which saw all genres of dance being weaved together beautifully by eight hosts who played the characters of famous nursery rhymes, highlighting important issues like global warming, discrimination and poverty while building up the momentum for the dance performances that included classical Indian dance performances, tribal dance, Jazz, Rock and Roll and concluded with the grand finale of the much loved Michael Jackson Medley and Hip-hop.

Elucidating on the brilliant performances that she just witnessed, Chief Guest Dr. Pheroza Godrej asserted how people the world over are passionate about dance, and that it is through dance in school that we learn how to conduct our lives with poise and grace. She acknowledged how the afternoon had flown magnificently and congratulated Principal Zarin Behram Rabadi and her team for the same. Dr. Pheroza Godrej gave away academic awards to the SSC high scorers and other achievers, followed by a vote of thanks to the trustees of Parsee Girls School Association (PGSA ) for all their efforts, and concluded the school anthem.
