Aanoash Chichgar Awarded For Cycling Feat

Surat’s 12-year-old cycling sensation, Aanoash Zubin Chichgar, cycled 182 kms from Surat to the world’s tallest statue (182 mts) – the ‘Statue of Unity’, which honors Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, located in Kevadia, Gujarat. Aanoash was the youngest of 52 cyclists who participated in ‘The Unity Ride’ (organized by the Life Cycle Group), which kicked off on 6th Janaury, 2019 from Surat at 5:30 am passing through Bardoli, Mandvi, Netrang and Rajpipla. The latter part of the journey, which traversed the Satpuda ranges was risk-ridden with steep slopes and rough patches but the riders, including other Parsi cycling champs from Surat -Yezdi Dapotawala and Burzin Dordi, with their strong-minded determination, reached their destination, the ‘Statue of Unity’, in 11 hours.

Aanoash, son of Zubin and Maharukh Chichgar, was honoured by MLA C R Patil for this cycling feat on 20th January, 2019, bringing great pride to the community. Kudos to Aanoash!
