The Cusrow Baug United Sports & Welfare League (CBUSWL) conducted its annual three-week long Badminton tournament, which concluded with the finale and a gala dinner, on 10th September, 2022. Over 70 residents participated in the event which comprised numerous categories including Singles, Doubles, Mixed-doubles, Juniors, Veterans etc., to enhance participation.
Graced by Chief Guest, Makarand Narvekar – Corporator ‘A’ Ward, the tourney witnessed a large audience, who had gathered to cheer their favourite participants, ranging from age 8 to above 60 years.
The winner for the hard-fought Men’s Singles was Varun Buhariwalla, who was also adjudged as the ‘Best Player of the Tournament’. Narvekar handed the prizes to winners from all categories. The event was sponsored by Hoshang Jal, Jt. Hon. Secretary, CBUSWL, who has been sponsoring this event since years, in memory of his late mother, who was also an avid Badminton player.
