Kiwi Parsis Hold Auspicious New Year Jashan

On 2nd January, 2024, the Mobeds of New Zealand and the ZSBC, collaborated to bring in 2024 on an auspicious note with a New Year’s Jashan ceremony, which was held at the Foroud Shahlori Dar-be-Meher
in Pakuranga, Auckland, New Zealand at 10:00 am. The Jashan was attended by over 35 Kiwi Zoroastrians in person and was also broadcast live with over a number of people logging in from Canada, USA, UK, NZ, UAE and India.

Aspi and Dolly Shahlori graciously offered the Dar-be-Mehr premises free for the Jashan ceremony, which was performed by Ervads Behzad and Zariab Karkaria, Ervads Bakhtiyar and Kaizad Engineer and Ervad Khushroo Master. It was indeed heartening to note that four of the five mobeds performing the Jashan prayers, were between 17 and 23 years of age, bringing much joy and pride to all attendees. Gratitude was also extended to Zarathushtrian Association of New Zealand (ZANZ) for circulating the Jashan announcement to their members; Benifer Irani for helping organise the Jashan event; local Kiwi Zoroastrians for helping set up, serve food and clean up the Dadgah and to all attendees for taking time to participate in the prayers – in person or online. Indeed, a wonderful way to ring in 2024!
