Lions ‘Umang’ At Karjat

On 18th June, 2017, Lions Percy Master (Region Manager), Katy Patel (Zonal Manager), Cyrus Surti and 45 Lion members visited Umang – an extension of Bal Anand, run under World Children Welfare Trust, India. Home to over sixteen special children with special needs including cerebral palsy, mental/ physical disabilities, Umang is a 6 ½ acre farm land, designed to train children in farming, gardening, creating handicrafts, providing various therapies, vocational training and medical care. Lion Percy Master, Chairperson –Region I, conducted a visit and donated four air coolers in the children’s residential quarters. Biscuits and chocolates were distributed through donations received from multiple Lions Clubs – Byculla, Bombay South Hill and Bombay Queensway. Lion members participated in planting trees on the property to promote environmental objectives of Lionism. Preceded by Chief Guests, DG Armaity Cooper and Lion Aspi Cooper, the Lions were given a tour by Umang’s Chairperson, Sulochana and Nazneen Engineer. Lion Percy Master and DG Lion Armaity Cooper appreciated the good work done by Bal Anand and Umang and the social service efforts taken by Lion members.
