South Africa Beats India To Level T20 Series 1-1: Great batting performances from the skipper, JP Duminy (64 not out) coupled with Heinrich Klaasen’s 69 helped the hosts win the second T20 by six wickets at SuperSport Park, Centurion. Batting first, the visitors notched up 188-4 in 20 overs thanks to a gritty effort and unbeaten scores of 79 in 48 deliveries from Manish Pandey and 52 in 28 balls from MS Dhoni. For South Africa, Junior Dala grabbed 2-28 in four overs. In reply, South Africa chased down the total comfortably and finished with 189-4 in 18.4 overs. Jaydev Unadkat picked two wickets while Shardul Thakur and Hardik Pandya picked one each. Klaasen was awarded ‘Man of the Match’.

 

HOCKEY

Sardar Singh To Lead India In Sultan Azlan Shah Cup: India’s veteran hockey player Sardar Singh will lead the Indian hockey team for the 27th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup to be played in Ipoh, Malaysia from 3rd to 11th March 2018. Singh replaces regular skipper Manpreet Singh who is currently rested. Striker Ramandeep Singh will be his deputy. Mandeep Mor, Sumit Kumar (Jr.) and Shilanand Lakra will make their debut. The tournament will feature India, Malaysia, Australia, Argentina, England and Ireland.

Dominic Thiem Wins Argentina Open: Austrian tennis star Dominic Thiem clinched his second Argentina Open title as he outplayed rival Aljad Bedene of Slovenia 6-2, 6-4 in a 1 hour and 30 minutes clash.
