BBRWA Celebrates Jamshedi Navroze

The Bharucha Baug Residents’ Welfare Association (BBRWA) organized Jamshedi Navroz celebrations at the Baug on 21st March, 2019 for the fourth year. The highlight was the grand Meiz-e-Murad, probably the only public wishing table, which attracted a large number of visitors from across the city. The day started with the inauguration of the Meiz-e-Murad at 3:28 am, followed by a Humbandagi led by Er. Kersi Katila, baug resident and Panthaki of Patel Agiary Andheri. A Khushali-nu-jashan was held in the evening alongside an enlightening speech by Er. Parvez Karanjia, Panthaki of Sodawaterwalla Agiary and followed by the felicitation of Chief Guest, Sam Balsara – Chairman and MD, Madison World; and other Guests of Honour – BPP Chairman Yazdi Desai, BPP Trustees, Kersi Randeria and Viraf Mehta, Anahita Desai, Mrs. Sam Balsara and daughter, and Mrs. Randeria.

The dignitaries spoke on the importance of maintaining our Parsi/Irani traditions and praised the BBRWA for promoting traditions, like the popular Meiz-e-Murad. A fun entertainment programme followed, of which the highlight was the well-choreographed, song and dance sequence presented by the budding artists of Bharucha Baug, Cama Park and Panthaki Baug. The evening ended with a sumptuous dinner.
