Wasim Jaffer Reaches Historic Milestone In Ranji Trophy

Legendary cricketer Wasim Jaffer achieved a historic milestone in his career accumulating and becoming the first cricketer to reach the 11,000 run mark in the Ranji Trophy during Vidarbha’s round three contest V/s Baroda. Wasim hit a marvellous 153 and continues to shine with the bat.

 

ICC Women’s World T20: Windies, India Out; Aus, England Reach Finals

In a shocking defeat, defending champions Windies Women lost to the Aussies who claimed a 71 run victory in the first Semi-final. Batting first, Aussies scored 142-5 in 20 overs but Windies faltered during the batting chase and perished for just 71 in 17.3 overs. The second Semi-final saw favourites India Women crashing out losing to England. England won their encounter by eight wickets and cruised to victory in style. Batting first India could managed 112 in 19.3 overs as Smriti Mandhana top scored with 34. Amongst the English bowlers, skipper Heather Knight snapped up 3 for 9 in two overs. In reply England chased down the total and lost just two wickets in the process garnering 116-2 in 17.1 overs. Player of the Match, Amy Ellen Jones and Natalie Sciver scored 53 and 52 not out respectively. India’s Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav managed to grab only one wicket each. Australia faces England during the summit clash on 25^th November, 2018.

Mary Kom Enters Final

Five time World Champion Mary Kom makes India proud once again as she moves closer to her historic sixth gold, as she beat North Korea’s Kim Hyang Mi in the semi-finals of the women’s 48 kg light flyweight category in the AIBA Women’s World Championships in Delhi. She will face Ukraine’s Hanna Okhota in the final clash on 24^th November, 2018.

Nehwal, Verma, Kashyap Enter Quarters

Top India shuttlers, Saina Nehwal, Sameer Verma and Parupalli Kashyap won their respective encounters and moved into the quarter finals of the Sayed Modi International World Super Tour 300. Saina defeated Amolika Singh Sisodiya 21-14, 21-9. Kashyap beat Firman Abdul Kholik 9-21, 22-20, 21-8; while Sameer outplayed China’s Zhao Junpeng 22-20, 21-17.
