Dear Readers,

It’s been a week of celebrations in our community in Mumbai, and Parsi Times, as always looks forward to further the noble and never-underestimated cause of such ‘fun with a cause’ community events. These jamborees, which fit seamlessly into our positive default preference for fun and entertainment, foster a sense of the much-needed unity amongst us, especially when the main attraction of the agenda is music and food – the unconditional passwords to our hearts, which surpass any and all criteria that raise bones of contention amongst us.

In keeping with our commitment to consolidating this unity, Parsi Times is always delighted to media partner with and further spread the joy of numerous Baugs and social service oriented organisations celebrating Various noteworthy occasions, like the recently held Annual Day Celebrations by ZTFI (Zoroastrian Trust Funds Of India) or ‘Starlight – A Tribute To Elvis’ by MBZA (Malcolm Baug Zoroastrian Association).

It is a joy to behold so many community members coming together to celebrate and strengthen the fabric of our unity amidst smiles, pride and laughter. And speaking of pride, it is indeed an extra two feathers in our community’s cap with Dr. Cyres Mehta and Dr. Rushad Shroff (New Delhi) being awarded ‘lnternational Hero of India’ by The All India Ophthalmologists Society, as two amongst only twenty eye surgeons that had been chosen for this honour, over twenty thousand eye surgeons in India!

These days Tamil Nadu State politics is strongly under the media scanner and we stand aghast, witnessing how the dirt and the deceit unfolds. Not too far back, something like this happening in our community would be unthinkable. Unfortunately, these days the community’s welfare seems to be at the mercy of external influences with vile agendas, empowering the enemy within. If only our community caretakers would also imbibe unity as a default mindset, community welfare would be a year-round celebration!
