Avan Yazad Parab Celebrations At Radio Club

On 24th March, 2017, numerous Zoroastrians flocked to the Radio Club Pier in Colaba to worship Avan Ardavisur Banu on the occasion of Ava Yazad Parab. The celebrations commenced with twenty-one mobeds performing a jasan, headed by Vada Dasturji of Udvada, Khurshed Dastoor, with a special reference to a prayer from the Ardavisur Niyaish, followed by students of Girton High School singing two songs, composed by Rustom Chothia and two beautiful renditions by Jamshed Kotwal and Sanober Reporter. Zarin Commissariat welcomed all present for the function, which was first started by Late Dinshaw Merchant and Late Rustomjee Kuka and is now organized by Kersi Limathwalla, Bakhtawar Merchant, Ervad Nadir Modi, Kersi Commissariat, Zarir Bhathena, WZO India and Athornan Mandal. Kersi Limathwalla, in his welcome address, invoked the divine blessings of Ava Ardavisur Banu and emphasized on the need to be extra cautious in our approach to community matters. Vada Dasturji Khurshed Dastoor, lamenting over our current state of affairs, expressed a pressing need to have HAMAZOR. “Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress and working together is Success! So let’s start coming together”, he stated. Keynote Speaker, Ervad Pervez Karanjia spoke on 30 Rojni Setayish where we worship our 30 Rojna Yazads and the 3 Yazads Burzo, Horn and Dahm in the Siroja Yasht. He also emphasized that our prayers, when done diligently with piety and patience, especially the Ardavisur Niyaish, have failed no man. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by Chhaiye Hame Zarthosti and cheerful music.
