Naheed Divecha Wows At Nationals

Hot on the heels of her State Championships wins, Naheed Divecha does the community proud yet again, on a National level this time! Parsi Times is delighted to share that Naheed Divecha won two Gold Medals and one Silver Medal at the 43rd Indian Masters (Veteran) Nationals Badminton 2018-19, which was held in Goa, at the Multipurpose Stadium (Mapusa), from January 28 to February 3, 2019.

The Tournament witnessed nearly one thousand eight hundred participants – a record number of entries at this time’s Nationals, making it extra competitive for all. Naheed won two Gold Medals – one each in the ‘Women’s Doubles’ title in the 45+ category (partnered with Dr. Wrishalee Patil) and the ‘Mixed Doubles’ title in the 45+ category (partnered with Cdr. Ashutosh Pednekar). She also won a Silver medal, as the Finalist and Runner-up in the ‘Women’s Singles’ 45+ Category, having played 14 grueling marathon games, to reach the finals of all 3 events on 2nd February, 2019.

Speaking to Parsi Times, Naheed said, “Congratulations to our registered players of GMBA for their outstanding performance at the 43rd Indian Masters Badminton Nationals 2019, at Goa. Needless to say – I am on a week’s break for rest and recovery and then shall switch to preparing for Tennis for the upcoming All Parsis Tennis Tournament (organised by FOZAWAC) to be held at the Wodehouse Gymkhana on 23 -24th February.” Those interested in participating are requested to connect with Naheed at
