India Announces World Cup Team: India announced its 15-member-squad for the ICC World Cup to be played in UK starting May 30th 2019. Virat Kohli will lead the side with Rohit Sharma as his deputy. Unfortunately, Ambati Rayudu and Rishabh Pant were given the miss as experienced pro Dinesh Karthik steps in as the backup keeper. The squad of Team India comprises Virat Kohli (C), Rohit Sharma (VC), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Vijay Shankar, MS Dhoni (wk), Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami.
MI Win V/s DC: Man of the Match Hardik Pandya’s splendid show with bat and ball (32 off 15) and (1-17) helped Mumbai Indians win by 40 runs against Delhi Capitals. Batting first, MI notched up 168-5 in 20 overs with openers Rohit Sharma (30) and Quinton de Kock (35). Krunal Pandya remained not out on 37 while Hardik smashed two fours and three sixes en route 32. For DC, Kagiso Rabada snapped up 2-38 in four overs. Delhi managed to chase only 128-9 in 20 overs as Shikhar Dhawan got off with a flying start but threw his wicket at 35, post which wickets fell in quick succession. DC couldn’t recover, handing Mumbai a comfortable victory and two points!
IPL 2019: Kings XI Punjab Beats RR: Kings X1 Punjab (KXIP) skipper and Man of the Match, Ravichandran Ashwin scored a quick-fire four ball 17 and later snared (2-24) with the ball helping his team beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 12 runs at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali. Put into bat first, KXIP notched up 182-6 in 20 overs. Openers – KL Rahul scored 52 while the Universe Boss, Chris Gayle pelted 30 in 22 deliveries. Number four batsman, David Miller, pitched in a handy 40 runs as Ashwin added the finishing touches with two sixes and a four. For RR, Jofra Archer was the pick of the bowlers snapping (3-15) in four overs. In reply RR manage 170-7 in 20 overs. Rahul Tripathi top scored with 50, while skipper Ajinkya Rahane made 26. A last-minute flourish from Stuart Binny, smashing 33 in 11 deliveries with two boundaries and three sixes fell short of the win.

Premier League Results: 13th April saw Tottenham Hotspur win 4-0 against Huddersfield Town; AFC Bournemouth thrash Brighton and Hove Albion 5-0; Burnley defeated Cardiff City 2-0; and Fulham won against Everton 2-0. Southampton pip Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-1 and Manchester United outplayed rivals West Ham United 2-1. Next day, Manchester City overpowered Crystal Palace 3-1; Liverpool beat Chelsea 2-0. On 15th April, Arsenal beat Watford 1-0. On 16th April, Cardiff City overtook Brighton and Hove Albion winning 2-0.
