Hope, Healing And Recovery In The New Year!

Dear Readers,

It feels way longer than eighteen months, since we’ve been battling the coronavirus epidemic, which has destroyed lives and livelihoods, robbed us of our loved ones and dimmed our happiness. Dealing with losses and living with the scary uncertainty of a deadly, mutating virus causes anxiety and depression, worsening the loneliness and alienation.

But life is a cycle – neither good times, nor bad times last forever. Things are starting to look up as vaccination rates increase, public places re-open and we can once again meet and go out with friends, in adherence, of course, to social distancing and limited numbers. Even so, these little joys greatly reinforce our sense of hope, as we embrace our renewed appreciation for friends, family, community and things taken for granted earlier. Our healing has begun, as we tread the path of recovery. And that is the theme that this Parsi New Year Special issue highlights and celebrates – Hope, Healing and Recovery.

It will be a while before we are out of the woods, but let’s not forget we are Parsis – the progeny of glorious men and women who endured much worse, and who didn’t just live to tell the tale, but thrived and made our community and country proud with their superlative achievements and integrity! We got this!

And speaking of country, there’s even more reason for cheer as we celebrate our grand Independence Day on August 15th! May our nation continue to touch newer heights and grow to take its rightful place as a global super-power. Happy Independence Day!

As we look into the rear-view mirror that continues to distance us from the worst of COVID-19, let us march with our chins up, towards our wholesome recovery and wellbeing for years to come.

Navu Saal Mubarak to you and your loved ones! May the new orbit bless us all with healing, happiness and prosperity!
