Friya Jijina Hits Gold In Khelo India Women’s Judo National League

Friya Khushnoor Jijina, studying B.VOC in Sports and Entertainment Management at South Mumbai’s K C College, did the community proud by winning the gold medal in Judo in the Junior, Under-70 kgs category, at the ‘Khelo India National Women’s League’, held at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in the country’s capital – New Delhi. Friya was the only girl from Mumbai and Maharashtra to secure a gold medal at the ‘Khelo India Women’s Judo National League & Ranking Tournament’, which was organised by the Judo Federation of India, from 20th – 23rd October, 2022.

Friya has been practicing Judo since the age of 3 and won her first gold medal when at 4, in Dojo (Judo class), under her Sensei (teacher) Cawas Billimoria, Coach of Ippon Judo Academy. Friya’s parents – Khushnoor and Kamal – are also students of Sensei Billimoria. Kudos to Friya on her fabulous achievement and here’s wishing her the very best to continue excelling!
