‘The Navjote Book’ By Delzin Choksey Receives Rave Reviews!

The community’s leading author and illustrator of children’s books, Delzin Choksey is back with yet another useful gem for children, with the launch of ‘The Navjote Book’ – which makes for an excellent introduction to prepare Zoroastrian children for the initiation into the faith and is perfect for children who have just had their Navjotes performed. The book is a hit with children, as it comprises interactive learning, games, stickers, templates for crafts and recipes.

‘The Navjote Book’ has received rave reviews from priests, academics and community greats! While Vada Dasturji Khurshed Dastoor of Iranshah Atash Behram in Udvada praised the book as a must-have for young Zoro kids as it facilitates the understanding of our faith and provides guidance, religious scholar and Principal of Dadar Athornan Institute, Er. Dr. Ramiyar Karanjia termed the book, “Authentic, modern, simple and zany – a wonderful combination for children”, adding, “Delzin has done a wonderful job enabling children as well as youngsters to understand not only the religion and prayers, but also the customs and traditions, with oodles of fun and activities.”

Dinshaw Tamboly – Chairman, The WZO Trust Funds, believed the book is fundamentally different as it “provides pre and recently Navjoted children with an interesting as well as fun time opportunity to learn about our faith, traditions and culture, that will create a lasting impact on their impressionable minds and stand them in good stead in the future.”

Delzin Choksey has even earlier gained much appreciation from the community by launching books which enrich and add to children’s comprehension of our religion and culture, in a lucid and fun manner. Born and brought up in Mumbai, Delzin Choksey moved to the more than a decade ago to acquire her Masters in Animation degree. Always passionate about creating art for young children, when her daughter was born, Delzin established her own business, ‘Crispy Doodles’, a full-service graphic design and illustration studio. She has since delivered a number of gems including the famous ‘Baby Zarathustra’; ‘Color and Learn – My First Zoroastrian Coloring Book’ – a Zoroastrian-themed colouring book for children; ‘The Adventures Of The Pillow Gang’ – an illustrated story book about a girl with big dreams; and last year she brought out an innovative Parsi Calendar for kids, themed, ‘Quotes From The Avesta’.

All her books have received tremendous response and have our Zoro tots and their parents looking for more such excellent content which entertains and educates in equal measure. ‘The Navjote Book’ can be purchased online in India via the link: https://shopping.on-lyne.com/product/the-navjote-book/ and in the US via: https://www.etsy.com/in-en/listing/1611190103/the-navjote-activity-book
