Ushta-Te Foundation Celebrates Silver Anniversary

As part of its Silver Jubilee Celebrations, Ahmedabad-based Ushta-Te Foundation organised a gala entertainment eve, which was thoroughly enjoyed by numerous grateful beneficiaries. Commencing with a prayer and a lively monajat rendered by 32 children, the program was compered by Ushta-Te Trustee – Pearl Sabawala, who invited onto the dais: Chief Guest – Dinshaw Tamboly and his wife Bachi, Guest of Honor – Padmashri Yazdi Karanjia; and senior trustees.

In her welcome address, Mng. Trustee Mini Patel shared various activities undertaken by the organization including ZAGA (Zarathusti Awareness Group of Ahmedabad) Sunday classes for Zoroastrian children, Gatha and meditation online groups, ‘Hamazor’ – monthly meetings and entertainment for senior citizens, Financial Aid for education and medical treatment, and distribution of useful household items for those in need during New Year.

Founder member – Meher Medora voiced her appreciation for the support of donors, well-wishers and colleagues, especially lauding the efforts of young trustees and volunteers managing ZAGA. The compare then introduced Chief Guest Dinshaw Tamboly, highlighting his stupendous contribution towards the progress and wellbeing of the community, especially for the needy.

In his motivating address, Dinshaw Tamboly greatly lauded the institution and the vibrant and dynamic women managing it. He praised Meher Medora, the visionary founder of Ushta Te, for her diligence and commitment. “The positive activities of Ushta Te spread over a very wide spectrum have benefited our community at large… the community centric services of Ushta Te are bound to have an inspiring and motivating effect amongst the youth of Ahmedabad and encourage them to get more involved. It will be safe to say that women having put gender inequities aside, have been breaking barriers, taking gigantic strides, consistently forging ahead. One can only acknowledge with pride, the power of Naari Shakti,” he said.

A special honor was conferred on author Dilber Bokdawala, after which children and volunteers were given special silver anniversary mementos. Senior trustee Shirin Kanga raised the vote of thanks expressing much gratitude for the cooperation and dedication of all involved which culminated into 25 years of Ushta-Te’s success. The eve ended with Guest of Honour – Padmashri Yazdi Karanjia and group’s excellent performance with their natak, ‘Dinshawji na Dabba Gul!’, which thoroughly entertained the audience.
