M J Wadia Agiary Celebrates An Evening In Gratitude To Meher Yazad

The M J Wadia Agiary, at Lalbaug, celebrated the Meher Roj Meher Mahino Parab with a gala function, on 27th February, 2024, in a grand function starting with a Hama Anjuman Jashan, led by Vada Dasturji of Iranshah Udvada – Dasturji Khurshed Dastur. The event was well attended by the young and old of the community.

Based on the theme: ‘Gratitude’, the program commenced with Roxane Desai introducing the dignitaries – Chief Guest – Vada Dasturji Khurshed Dastur, Kersi J Limathwalla – Chairman Trustee of M J Wadia Agiary Trust; and Er Dr Ramiyar Karanjia – Course Director of the Structured Religious Course (established in 2008). After welcoming new Co-Trustees – Feroza Khan, Ayesha Kapadia and Hanoz Patel with floral tributes, Kersi Limthwalla expressed gratitude to Ahura Mazda for bestowing humans with intellect, wisdom to distinguish right from wrong and freedom to make the right decisions to attain Garothman, receiving great applause. The ZoroKids class next sang Monajats followed by musician Viraf Daruwalla also singing melodious bandagis and songs.

In his speech, Chief Guest Vada Dasturji Khurshed Dastur emphasized the importance of prayer, to help the needy, and to protect nature. Er. Dr. Ramiyar Karanjia pondered why gratitude was a diminishing virtue and how it needed to be ingrained and practiced at all times. He shared that our Muktads, Gambhars even the Dae Mahino Jashans were all a thanksgiving to Ahura Mazda and our dearly departed and that one must always express thanks for everything and that sets the stage for happiness and healing, which Meher Yazad blesses us with.

An announcement was made for the upcoming 17th Structured Religious Course, starting in April 2024, which helps understand our basic prayers; and also for ZoroKids classes conducted for Pre-Navjote and Post-Navjote Parsi kids. In addition, a ‘Mind Meditation Miracles’ class teaching meditation the Avestan way is also conducted at the M J Wadia Hall by Yazdi Munsif and a new class on Persian Language by Darayus Zainabadi is slated to start soon. Those interested in the above would need to register themselves with Roxane Desai on 98193 79345.
