Vasai’s Sachinwalla Dar-E-Meher Celebrates 18th Salgreh

The Manijeh Sachinwalla Dar-E-Meher, Vasai celebrated its 18th Salgreh on the morning of 9th November, 2017, with a jasan ceremony performed by Er. Fali Madan, Er. Jehangirji Karkaria, Paramobeds Mehernosh Jiwasa and Yezdi Postwala, followed by a humbandagi. The function attended by over one hundred and twenty-five Zarthustis proceeded to the compound across the road, where Trustee and architect, Bomi Sachinwalla felicitated BPP Trustee Yazdi Desai and wife Anahita Desai, who complemented the Agiary for its beauty and cleanliness. Addressing the gathering Yazdi said, “We have inherited the Zoroastrian and Parsi religion and race from our ancestors, so let us live in the same way as our ancestors did. Do not dilute our religion as we would be insulting our forefathers. Do not keep silent, but speak out on the occasion when it happens.” Delivering a vote of thanks, compere, Jamshed Bhiwandiwala thanked the guests of honor, the mobeds, the volunteers and all who helped with the upkeep of the Agiary and the Salgreh function. The event concluded with Marzban Wadia’ singing Parsi song, followed by light shastriya music and a vegetarian lunch.
