IPL 2018: Dhoni, Rayudu Clinch Victory for CSK: A magnificent unbeaten innings from skipper MS Dhoni (70 off 44) coupled with Ambati Rayudu (82 off 53) got Chennai Super Kings their win against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Batting first, RCB made a mammoth 205-8 in 20 overs, thanks to AB de Villiers’ 68 off 30 balls, smashing eight sixes! Opener Quinton de Kock scored 53 in 37 deliveries with one four and four sixes. For CSK bowlers, Shardul Thakur, Imran Tahir and Dwayne Bravo picked two wickets each. In reply, CSK’s Dhoni and Rayudu patiently scored great runs with the former’s seven sixes and the latter’s struck three boundaries and eight maximums, getting CSK at 207-5 in 19.4 overs. RCB’s Yuzvendra Chahal picked (2-26) in four overs. MS Dhoni won Man of the Match.


BADMINTON

Indian Shuttlers Enter Asia Championships Quarters: Star Indian players PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, Saina Nehwal and HS Prannoy defeated their respective opponents to advance into the quarter-finals of the Badminton Asia Championships, at the Wuhan Sports Centre. Sindhu beat China’s Chen Xiaoxin 21-12, 21-15. Hong Kong’s Wong Wing Ki Vincent retired at 7-2 during the first game making Srikanth the winner. Prannoy defeated Chinese Taipei’s Wang Tzu Wei 16-21, 21-14, 21-12. Finally, Saina won with a 21-18, 21-8 victory against Gao Fangjie of China.


TENNIS

Rafa Wins Monte Carlo Masters: Rafael Nadal outplayed opponent Kei Nishikori 6-3, 6-2 in the finale to win his 11th Monte Carlo Maters title, thus retaining World Number One ranking. He also becomes the first to win a single tournament 11 times in the open era!
