14th Salgreh of Renovated Vadodara’s Umrigar Agiary

The Bai Dhunbaiji Umrigar Agiary at Fatehganj, Vadodara, celebrated its 14th Salgreh on 23rd March, 2018, with a Hama Anjuman Machi in Uzirin Gah followed by a Hama Anjuman (Khushalinu) Jashan at 5:30 pm led by Ervad Hormazdiyar Bhesania, Panthaky Saheb along with other Ervad. The Jasan was well attended by the members of the community including the Trustees of the Shri Parsi Panchayat, Vadodara. Religious Scholar and Panthaky of Seth B M Mevawala Agiary, Mumbai was invited as the Chief Guest, who addressed the gathering on the annals of the Iranian History right upto the Sassanian Dynasty when Iran fell into the hands of Arabs. The Zoroastrians of Iran were steadfast and resilient to protect their ethnic identity and preserve their Zoroastrian faith which was dearer and nearer to their hearts. Further elaborating, Er. Dr. Bajan said, “The Zoroastrian religion is the oldest religion whose followers worship fire as the son and symbol of Ahura Mazda and perhaps no other religion has influenced so many people, in so many continents, over so many centuries.”

The function concluded with presentation of flowers, shawl and memento to Er. Dr. Bajan, followed by a vote of thanks proposed by the Senior Trustee Aspi Vajifdar and a sumptuous community dinner sponsored by Shri Parsi Panchayet, Vadodara, catered by Ruby Khajotia.
