Chomp And Cheers: Mawa Cake

(Makes 2 kgs cake)


Flour – 400 gm
Butter – 400 gm
Icing Sugar – 500 gm
Milk – 250 ml
Eggs – 10
Vanilla essence – ½ cap or 1tbsp.
Mawa (fresh) – 500 gm
Baking Powder – 5 gm


Pre-heat oven to 180°C. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Add the eggs one by one. Add the vanilla essence.

In another bowl, add the dry ingredients – flour, icing sugar and baking powder. Seive, mix them together well and keep aside.

Add the dry ingredients slowly to the previous bowl, folding well.

Mix the mawa and milk well and add this mix to the bowl. Once the batter is ready, fill it into the mould of your choice (one big one or multiple smaller ones in round, rectangle, square, etc.)

Bake for 15-20 minutes. Check every 2 minutes with knife to see if cooked.

Serve warm
