Doongaji Dar-e-Meher Celebrates First Salgreh

Hormuz Roj of Dae Mahino, on 14th May, 2019, was a rejoiceful day for the members of the Navi Mumbai Zoroastrian Association (NMZA) who gathered at their sacred shrine to celebrate the very first salgreh of the Shirinbai and Khurshedji Hormusji Doongaji Dar-e-Meher at Koparkhairne. The building was decked with floral torans and looked sparkling clean. Despite being a working day, there was a strong turnout of around 100 Zarthostis, which packed the small Agiary building. The Hama Anjuman Jashan started at 10:30 am, on behalf of the trustees – Shahrukh Doctor, Noshir Parlewala, Pervin Umrigar, Keki Doctor, Farokh Bachana and Aspi Darukhanawala.

The Jashan, performed by Er. Minoo Umrigar and Behdin Pasvan Behram Unwalla, lasted over an hour and concluded with a Humbandagi, post which all humdins were moved to the airconditioned hall on the second floor of the adjoining building for sharing chasni and refreshments. Planning the way ahead for the Dar-e-Meher, the NMZA trustees look to generate more revenues to help with the care-taking of the Dar-E-Meher building which is still under construction and once compete, will be let out on rental basis for lagans, navjotes and receptions.
