Words Have Power!

We at Parsi Times are proud to announce the completion of ten amazing years. Undoubtedly – a time of jubilation and achievement, considering how far this publication has reached, in so short a time. But in keeping with the current challenging times, we have chosen to regard this milestone more as a time for deep contemplation, than celebration.

At this moment in time, there’s no denying the horror and misery that surrounds us… one cannot emphasize enough the importance of being and thinking positive and engaging in positive play and actions. It’s not an easy feat with all this negativity surrounding us but I cannot reiterate enough the importance of some disconnect. You cannot let outside events dominate your inner self. This is a time of real spiritual endeavour – make your thoughts count and make your words an edict to the life you choose, not the one chosen for you.

Your words become your reality. It’s true. Where you stand today is, for the greater part, the consequence of the words you say to yourself – self-talk. Psychologists say that our subconscious mind interprets what it hears literally. The words that come out of our mouths, therefore, create the reality we inhabit – for better or worse. When spoken with truth, your words have the ability to change your life. Words are like seeds, when you speak, you give light to what you are saying; If you say it repeatedly, eventually it will become your reality. Whether you admit it or not, you are prophesying your future.

Powerful, positive and beautiful words can heal and uplift. This is great when you’re saying things like, “I am blessed, I am strong, I want to accomplish my dreams, I am coming out of debt”. That’s not just being positive, that’s you prophesying success and victory. Your life inevitably moves in the direction of your words, but too many people go around prophesying the opposite, subconsciously sabotaging our successes by using language that undermines our opinions, amplifies our problems and chips away at our confidence and ability to handle them. “I simply don’t get good breaks, I will never get back in shape, business is slow, I will probably get laid off, the virus is here and I may probably get it…..” Saying things that affirm incompetence, echo hopelessness, nurture anxiety, or fuel pessimism will, in time, shape the path you walk on.

Whatever direction your words lead – your mind, body and spirit are sure to follow. Our external environment is often a mere reflection of our internal one, which shows up in how we speak. If we use positive language – about ourselves, our ability to learn new skills, to achieve goals, manage setbacks, this becomes part of our metabolism. So, ensure you deliberate about speaking only those words that empower and expand, rather than devalue, debilitate and deflate you.

Remember, as you sow, so shall you reap – you can’t talk negative and expect to live a positive life; You can’t talk defeat and expect victory; You can’t talk scarcity and get abundance. A poor mouth builds a poor life. If you don’t like what you’re seeing, start sowing different seeds!

Words consist of vibrations and sound, which in turn create our reality. Words are the creator and curator of the universe, our lives and our reality. Words translate into thoughts and thoughts into words. These two are powerful tools – they can construct, nourish, inspire and promote greatness or they can erode, scratch and chip away at our confidence and self-esteem. Words impact what we manifest in our lives. When you say something out loud enough, a number of times, your words become a self-believing truth not only in your mind but in the minds of everyone around you as well, an affirmation to translate into your reality. Choose the words that you speak wisely and consciously.

It takes practise to improve self-awareness over the words that we use to describe ourselves and our lives. Start sowing seeds of increase and abundance to reap a harvest of all things good. With our tongue, we can bless or curse our life. Don’t curse your future. As the creator of your own universe, what you say, goes. So, catch yourself  before you let negative words trip over your tongue. Stop criticising yourself and your shortcomings. Frame your word choices to create a brilliant masterpiece of dazzling opportunities for yourself. Be the architect of your own destiny by recreating the language you speak. Words have tremendous power; the way you speak or write them can impact lives and leave a lasting memory. If you remember one thing today, remember the words of Friedrich Nietzche, “All I need is a sheet of paper and something to write with, and then I can turn the world upside down.”
