Young Zoroastrians Society Holds Annual Function

Aimed at nurturing model Parsis of the future, the Young Zoroastrian Society (16th East Bombay Zoroastrian Bharat Scout Group and 71st East Bombay Zoroastrian Bharat Guide Group) held its 103rd Annual Meeting and social gathering on 1st October, 2023, at Allbless Baug.

Chief Guest – Captain Percy Master, Chairman – Master Group, was given a ceremonial welcome by the young scouts and guides, alongside Scout Master – Freddy Khapoliwala, Group Leader Scouts – Noshir Radneria and Group Leader Guide – Mackie Majra. An encouraging speech by Captain Percy Master was followed by the prize distribution ceremony and a tasty patru dinner.

Scouting is about experiential learning, and having fun with a purpose. The Scout group, founded on 1st August 1920, by the Late Scouters Ardeshir Jilla and Merwanji Mehta, aims to empower Zoroastrian youth with various physical and mental skills to become good citizens and contribute positively to society. Annual activities conducted include summer camp (April/May), winter camp (December), night hikes, Jashans, educational excursions, cooking and elocution competitions, etc.

The 16th East Bombay Zoroastrian Bharat Scout Group welcomes young boys between 5 to 17 years of age to become part of the exciting and enriching journey growing into adulthood and having a group of good Zoroastrian friends for life.
