‘The Community Needs To Know!!’

…. from A Confused ‘Metro’politan

Since the last eight months, on Sunday morning, some “chokra boy” comes and delivers in my house, what I thought and believed to be the supplement of the once respected and prestigious newspaper, the Mumbai Samachar, called the ‘Metro Junction’.

Only recently did I realise that the official ‘Metro Junction’ supplement of Mumbai Samachar comes with the main paper only from Monday to Saturday! There is no official supplement on Sunday. I checked it out – asked my newspaper vendor and figured out that the Mumbai Samachar on Sundays does not carry its own Metro supplement! I was stunned to know the community is unaware that what we get on Sundays delivered to our doorstep is NOT the official ‘Metro’

Now as a very concerned community member I want to know who is responsible for these shenanigans? Who pays for this ‘Metro’? Is it Ex-BPP Trustee and owner of Mumbai Samachar, Munchi Cama, who obviously owes a lot to Ex-BPP Chairman, Dinshaw Mehta, as he had supposedly spent a huge amount of money for him to get an order from the office of the Charity Commissioner??? One estimate I’ve heard of puts the amount as a whopping Rs. 20 Lakh!!! Only Munchi Cama and/or Dinshaw Mehta can confirm whether this figure is correct and whether Munchi spent the money or did Dinshaw?! Else, we as a community will be left to draw our own conclusions.

It has come to light from a reliable source that Munchi privately has told BPP Trustee Kersi Randeria that Dinshaw Mehta pays lakhs of Rupees per month, for these pages in the Metro. If so, I want to know why is Dinshaw Mehta spending so much on the ‘Metro’??? Is it because he is being investigated by the MRA Marg police station, under the directions of the Court for financial impropriety and breach of trust, and because of this, he desperately needs to divert the attention of the community from these extremely serious financial allegations??

I am of the knowledge that Munchi Cama was, in fact, one of the first signatories who made this allegation against Dinshaw Mehta in a complaint to the EOW, which was signed by all the then Trustees but subsequently not filed! Thereafter Munchi refused to sign the second and final complaint. I want to know WHY is that?

I also want to know what nexus exists between Munchi and Dinshaw? Not too long ago, the social media was abuzz where Dinshaw was heard on tape along with his son Viraf talking about the cash that he had allegedly taken from Musharaf. Munchi is now silent on this very serious allegation that he made against Dinshaw. Is it because Dinshaw’s (mis)deeds are catching up with him and the community is asking a lot of questions that Dinshaw has resorted to divert everyone’s attention with his FAKE NEWS that his Metro Junction carries??

Also, where on earth did the 25 Lakh in cash go??? Where did it go? Was this alleged cash amount shared by some individuals? Only after the police investigation is over will the community come to know the facts.

Remember the photographs of Viraf Mehta that did the rounds on WhatsApp? Everyone has seen photographs of him and his lawyer brother sitting in Starbucks at Horniman Circle with Musharaf, the person who had allegedly paid 25 lakh cash to Dinshaw Mehta and maybe whoever may have had a share in this alleged cash transaction. Again, what better way to divert the attention of the community from the photographs of Viraf and Hormaz Mehta then to publish FAKE NEWS?! The community awaits to see and hear the videos and audio recording of this meeting, which is due to be shown soon, we are told.

In the meanwhile, I want my community members to know that the Munchi Cama owned fake supplement, which is distributed through the Chokra boys, is NOT a newspaper or the official supplement that is sold with the main paper on six days of the week. You will often see a rubber stamp on this ‘FAKE NEWS’ supplement which says – ‘Complementary Copy’! With compliments from……..??? Munchi? Dinshaw? Viraf? Xerxes Dastur?

Who is behind this ‘complementary’ supplement? Who is writing this fake news and who pays for it? And most importantly, WHY is the community being misled?

As you can imagine, I am a very confused ‘METRO’politan and I speak for our community when I say, THE COMMUNITY NEEDS TO KNOW!!!

The Dadgah Saheb At Della Tower

After much hoopla, criticism and excitement, which I missed being out of town, the Della Tower Dadgah Saheb was inaugurated. So, I decided to see for myself and I was inexplicably drawn to the pristine silence that surrounds the beautiful Dadgah Saheb, even as He stands amidst chaotic Dadar.

As we enter the building, the imposing facade greets us with mighty images of Shah Lohrasp and Zarathushtra Spitaman. The theme is well defined and the friezes on the ceilings and walls are reminiscent of ancient Persepolis. The Dadgah itself is an oasis of calm and beauty. Priceless antique furniture, a hand painted etching of Dasturji Kookadaru Saheb, an old fashioned grandfather clock with a gentle chime and a most enigmatic portrait of Vakshuran Vakshur Asho Zarathushtra Spitaman greets us as we enter the Dadgah Saheb.

The inner sanctum is accessible and we can go right inside and place our offerings on the Dadgah Saheb. However, there is an intangible quality to this place – a very powerful magnetic vibration reverberates around the chamber. This is uncommon for a fire which is not consecrated. The only explanation I can think of is that this fire has been lit with a deep sense of true love for Ahura Mazda, which comes from the depth of the soul. I am certain this flame was tended by Jimmy Mistry for very long in his heart before it burst forth and manifested as the Della Tower Dadgah Saheb.

I humbly urge the community to come and experience the joy and deep tranquillity of the Della Tower Dadgah Saheb. God bless us all!

Feedback On Bhabha Sanatorium

I read your article on above matter in Parsi Times of 7th July and appreciate your approach towards this issue. In my opinion, the old buildings must be demolished and new towers as per prevailing DP and FSI norms be developed which may be sold to Parsis at subsidised rates and from that corpus, develop building for the existing inmates.
Also, the majority of BPP trustees can vote against the past trustees who are not tendering their resignation.
