Serena Williams Out In First Round At San Jose:

Top seed Serena Williams was left stunned as she was sent crashing out in the first round of the WTA San Jose tournament, being defeated by Johanna Konta 6-1, 6-0 during their 51 minutes clash.

South Africa Beat Sri Lanka To Clinch 2nd ODI:

Good batting knocks from Quinton de Kock (87), Hashim Amla (43) and skipper Faf du Plessis (49) helped South Africa win the second ODI at Dambulla by four wickets against Sri Lanka. Batting first, Sri Lanka managed to score a respectable 244-8 in their 50 overs. The South African bowling attack pulled things back brilliantly, as the Lankan lions lost heaps of wickets early on and were reduced to 123-4 in 25.2 overs. For the Proteas, Lungi Ngidi snapped up (3-50) while Andile Phehlukwayo picked (3-44). In reply, the visitors reached their target in 42.5 overs, getting 246 for the loss of six wickets. Quinton de Kock won the Man of the Match for his splendid batting.

Williams, Russell Help West Indies Win First T20:

Career best bowling figures from Kesrick Williams coupled with a quick fire knock from Man of the Match Andre Russell helped West Indies win the first T20 against Bangladesh by seven wickets in a rain curtailed match that was reduced to 11 overs, due to the DLS method. Batting first, Bangladesh managed a paltry 143-9 in their 20 overs as Williams’s brilliant bowling off 4-28 ripped the opposition apart. With rain playing spoil sport in between, West Indies had a revised target of 91 to chase down in 11 overs. Russell’s blistering knock of an unbeaten 35 in 21 balls helped West Indies reach 93-3 in 9.1 overs. With this win, West Indies take a 1-0 lead in the three match series while Bangladesh will be looking to bounce back.

India Win Over Italy:

Team India put up a great performance to beat opponents Italy with a 3-0 victory during their play-off encounter during the Women’s Hockey World Cup. For India, Lalremsiami scored in the ninth minute, Neha Goyal pelted a shot in during the 45th minute while Vandana Katariya scored the final goal in the
55th minute.
