WAPIZ For Kerala Relief

Just after the devastating floods in Kerala, Commodore Medioma Bhada was contacted by his naval friends in Cochin to organize skilled workmen for a project undertaken by the Rotary Club of Cochin to help rebuild the flood ravaged areas of Alwaye and Parur. Comm. Bhada, being a member of WAPIZ, approached WAPIZ to undertake this project and to organize and fund experienced plumbers and electricians to go to Kerala for at least a fortnight.

WAPIZ flew down a team of plumbers and electricians to Cochin, paying each of them Rs. 1,000/- per day.  The team returned to Mumbai a few days ago. V. Adm Prem Sudan sent an email, which says it all: “Your party of plumbers and electricians are returning home after fantastic repair work in 85 homes including 18 Anganwadis in flood ravaged areas of Alwaye and Parur. Attached is a photograph of the team with our coordinator Rotarian Salim. A big ‘ THANK YOU’ to Cmde Mike Bhada and WAPIZ group from president and members of Rotary Club of Cochin. Warm regards
V. Adm Suthan”

WAPIZ thanks Jabalpur Parsi Anjuman, for stepping forward to support this worthy cause by donating Rs. 50,000 and also Feroze Sethna for his donation.
