Young Rathestars Hold Gala Exhibition-Cum-Sale To Promote Entrepreneurship And Creativity In The Community

The Young Rathestars – our community’s leading Social Welfare Association, from Dadar Parsi Colony – held an exhibition-cum-sale at the Sorab Palamkote Hall, on 11th and 12th March, 2023, with the aim of providing community members, especially entrepreneurs, the much-needed support and encouragement and to showcase their creativity and talent. A total of 74 exhibitors put up their stalls, covering 137 tables, filled with Gara saris, Parsi religious items such as scarves, sadras, diva glasses, torans, chalk-na-dabba, frames, sukhar, clothes, accessories, chocolates, Parsi style snacks and foods, which was relished by everyone.

This well-organised exhibition-cum-sale drew in visitors from all across Mumbai to support the entrepreneurship of all the stall holders and received positive feedback. Nasha Jasawalla – Chairman and Managing Trustee of Rustom Framna Agairy as also a Trustee at Seth P N Kerawalla Charity Trust and the proprietor at JFK Enterprises – was accompanied by his wife, Farzeen, and presided as the Chief Guest for the evening.

The highlight of the evening was the felicitation program which was held to encourage students from within Dadar vicinity, who had excelled in their board exams. The students who were felicitated included Michele Crawford (97.50%); Ava Madan (96%) and Tushnamaitty Nakra (95.83%) from J B Vachha High School; and Er. Karl Z. Sidhwa (82.60%); Er. Yazad J. Broach (80.40%); and Er. Fravash M. Gulestan (77.40%) from the Dadar Athornan Institute. There was excitement in the air also for the Raffle Draw, which was sponsored by Godrej – and gifted the winner – Hanoz Master, an electronic safe.

Leading industrialist and beauty icon of the community, Yassmin Mistry, then took the stage to applaud the exemplary work that has been carried out by Young Rathestars, which was founded in 1942, and which has, now for 81 years, continued to selflessly and constantly dedicated to the welfare of the community, moreso for its underprivileged. Yassmin was joined by Anahita Dhalla who also added to the achievements and glory of the Young Rathestars. With her dynamic personality and motivating speech, Yassmin encouraged everyone to build on their entrepreneurship skills and looked at possibilities for creating a platform for them more often.

Arnavaz Mistry – President, Young Rathestars, alongside Homiyar Doctor (Vice President) and Shiraz Guard (Jt. Hon. Secretary) and all Committee Members (Firooza Tachakra, Cyrus Guzdar, Pervin Pastakia, Aspi Elavia, Aspi Tantra, Hufrish Doctor and Kersi Guard) concluded the enjoyable and fruitful meet by extending Jamshedi Navroz greetings to all.
