ZWAS Spreads Festive Cheer At Surat’s Nariman Home

The dynamic ladies of the Zoroastrian Women’s Assembly Of Surat (ZWAS) helped spread much cheer among the residents of Nariman Home, an old age home, in Surat. Keeping up to its ideal of service before self, this group of enthusiast women gathered at Nariman Home and greatly succeeded in ensuring that the silvers felt special and loved. ZWAS believes, “To make an elderly person happy is the noblest act a young person can ever do!”

In keeping with the fact that music is the ultimate mood-elevator, they organized the popular game of Antakshari where the seniors keenly joined in and sang their favourite songs, oozing much happiness and joy. In fact, one resident even danced to a Bollywood song with great grace! Celebrating the festive spirit of Navratri, garba dances with the residents was a big hit, with even the staff joining in the merriment at the old age home.

The residents were gifted tea mugs by ZWAS Trustee – Maharukh Chichgar, along with food packets by ZWAS Presdient – Mahzarin Variava. A delicious festive dinner was relished, thanks to sponsor Gulshan Master. The residents expressed sincere thanks for the fab evening, looking forward to the next visit from ZWAS! Kudos to ZWAS for catering to the wellbeing of the elderly, and for the numerous other activities carried out all year through, which goes a long way in fostering greater community unity and social responsibility.
