The Parsi Ward at JJ Hospital celebrated Jamshedi Navroz for the 30th consecutive year on 21st March, 2017, with a jasan ceremony attended by 45 residents along with guests and relatives. Yasmin Mistry opened the event, welcoming all. Chairman of the Bombay Parsi Punchayet, Yazdi Desai, spoke in appreciation of the selfless efforts of the matriarch of modern day JJ Hospital’s Parsi Ward, Arnavaz Jal Mistry, saying that without her constant efforts, the Ward would have been in a shambles. Other dignitaries, Hutokshi Dadabhoy, Dr. Rekha Davar, Shernaz Mehta, Hutoxi Mody, Dr. Sanjay Suhasey (Superintendent), Dr. Nitin More (RMO) and Ratamai Peer, also showered praise on her selfless dedication. Refreshments soon followed, and it was heart-warming to see the senior citizen residents happy and well cared for, in terms of food, personal hygiene, etc, thus, making the Ward the well-deserved winner of the ‘Best Maintained Ward’ award over the years. The event concluded with Yasmin Mistry giving a note of thanks for all contributions towards the upkeep of our Community’s seniors.
