England Win A Thriller Against South Africa: An all-round show by England brought them victory by a 2 run margin against South Africa. Batting first, England scored 330-6 in 50 overs. Ben Stokes continued his great form here too post the IPL, and scored 101. Buttler contributed 65 while skipper Eoin Morgan made 45. Amongst the bowlers, Rabada snapped up 2-50 in his 10-over spell. In reply, SA started off well but ultimately perished after 98. Ab de Villiers scored 52 while Miller remained unbeaten on 71. The side succumbed to England’s great death bowling at 328-5. Ben Stokes was awarded the ‘Man of the Match’.

South Africa Win Third ODI: The result of the last contest went in favour of SA who by 7 wickets. Put into bat first, the British managed only 153 in 31.1 overs as Jonny Bairstow top scored with 51. Rabada again picked up wickets, scalping 4-39 in 9 overs. SA cruised to victory with 156-3 in 28.5 overs. Hashim Amla made 55 in 54 balls. Rabada won the ‘Man of the Match’ while Eoin Morgan was awarded with ‘Man of the Series’.

Drew Sullivan Announced Retirement: Former Great Britain captain, Drew Sullivan announced his retirement from basketball at the age of 37. Sullivan played for Newcastle Eagles, Mersey Tigers, London Lions and also led Team GB.

TENNIS

Djoko And Rafa Advance To Third Round: Top seeds Rafael Nadal and defending champion Novak Djokovic, both won in straight sets moving into the third round in The French Open. Nadal beat Robin Haase 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 in less than two hours. Serbia’s Djokovic beat Portugal’s Joao Sousa 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 in two hours and seven minutes.

Paes And Lipsky Move Into Second Round: India’s Leander Paes and partner America’s Scott Lipsky defeated Radu Albot and Hyeon Chung 7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-2 and moved into the second round in the men’s doubles event of the French Open.
