West Indies Win Thriller Against Bangladesh:

A blistering knock by Man of the Match Shimron Hetmyer (125 off 93) helped West Indies beat Bangladesh by three runs, thus levelling the ODI series 1-1 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. Bangladesh had the match in their bags right till the very end but then they allowed victory to slip into the jaws of defeat. Batting first, the hosts amassed 271 in 49.3 overs. Hetmyer smashed three fours and seven sixes in the process of reaching his ton before being run out by Mehidy Hansan and Rahim. On the other hand, number six batsman Rovman Powell scored 44 in 67 deliveries. For the visitors, Rubel Hossain grabbed 3-61 in his nine overs while Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan picked two wickets each. When Bangladesh came out to chase down their total, their top order produced good knocks as Tamim Iqbal made 54 while Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim scored 56 and 68 respectively. The West Indian bowlers were bowled tight line and lengths in the death overs and reduced their opponents to 268-6 in 50 overs. Now the two sides will lock horns in St.Kitts during the third ODI.

India’s Pawan Shah Makes It To Record Books:

Maharashtra’s dynamic batsman Pawan Shah smashed a great 282 which came off 332 balls with 33 fours and one six, to become the second highest individual score in U-19 internationals along with six consecutive boundaries in an over to help India post a massive 613-8 against Sri Lanka on the second day of the final Youth Test.

Lakshya Sen Wins Gold:

Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen won the gold medal in the men’s singles category of the Asia Junior Championships in Indonesia. He registered a straight victory 21-19, 21-18 in 46 minutes defeating his Thai counterpart Kunlavut Vitidsarn during the under 19 final. With this win in his kitty, he has become only the third Indian after Gautam Thakkar and PV Sindhu to grab a gold medal at the Asia Junior Championships.

India Beat New Zealand In Men’s Hockey Test Series:

The Indian men’s Hockey team finished off the three match test series V/s rivals New Zealand on a great winning note as they won 4-0 at the Sports Authority of India Stadium. India also won the series 3-0 and are looking good when they participate in the upcoming 18th Asian Games. For the men in blue, Rupinder Pal Singh scored during the 8th minute, while Surender Kumar pelted his goal during the 15th minute. Mandeep Singh smashed it in during the 44th minute while Akashdeep Singh scored the last and final goal for team India during the 60th minute of the
clash.
