Jamshedi Navroz Mubarak!

Dear Readers,

As we ready ourselves to welcome the auspicious Jamshedi Navroz on the 20^th and 21^st of March, we cannot help but feel a sense of respite and redemption, when we look back at 2021… when the deadly coronavirus wasn’t yet done extracting its pound of flesh from humanity. We heave a sigh of relief knowing that though the pandemic is still not over, it is well on its way out.

We salute the sun’s vernal equinox – the harbinger of the lively Spring season. This year, we celebrate so much more than the Festival of Spring, even as some semblance of normalcy slowly trickles back into our lives… reminding us of how things used to be, before the pandemic struck – of the long struggle we’ve put up with, of the battles we lost, of the battles we won… and how we learnt to keep moving on, despite it all. It is these truths that inspired the theme of this Special Issue – ‘Celebrating Life Against All Odds – With Gratitude, Faith And Compassion’.

One of the biggest lessons of these times, that must not escape us, is realising the fragility of life and knowing how to celebrate each moment, as if it were an occasion itself. And only therein, would we have done justice, to not just existing or surviving in life, but thriving radiantly, as we were meant to, empowered with faith and hope, as we gradually and hopefully return to living in a covid-free world.

We hope that you will enjoy our special Jamshedi Navroz issue, which has been curated to infuse positivity, gratitude and hope into the start of the sprightly Spring season!
